turning into fall tuesday

Just in case anyone was wondering, the title probably won't have anything to do with the actual blog post.
Hello! I took my Cyber 6-week test today and let me tell you, it was a doozy. I haven't talked to anyone about it who has said they've done well. Everyone said, "if you can do the practice tests you'll be fine!" But let me tell you, if we're comparing the practice tests and actual test as reading levels, the practice tests were about a Pre-K4 or kindergarten level and the actual test was like the SAT. It was as if I studied for the SAT with the elementary grade study guide instead of an actual prep book. I hope that analogy made sense. It was open note but even my notes couldn't save me.
On a more positive note, I didn't drown during swim yesterday. My dad keeps reminding me that even though I say this week sucks that it could've been worse, I could've drowned yesterday.... Each class the swim time goes up and we did 20 minutes. 20 minutes never feels as long as it does when you're trying to swim in a pair of wool khakis. The hardest part is getting out of the pool at the end because they're all soggy and your arms are dead. I have two more classes and then I take the test... I think I'll pass I just don't know how well I'll do. Perhaps I could practice but that would mean that I would have to optionally swim at another time during the week. I would much rather run a spontaneous half marathon just to put it into perspective.
Another good thing, they fixed the dripping air conditioner! There is no more water torture happening in our room. In the span of 2 or 3 days the maintenance men fixed all three problems our room had. They replaced the burnt out light bulb, attempted to fix our door that didn't latch and fixed the dripping air conditioner. We really only cared about the last one but it's nice of them to pay attention to the other two.
This weekend I had liberty (the ability to leave) on Friday night and Sunday. So as a junior I'm supposed to have earned the privilege to wear any clothes that I want when I leave but right now we don't have that so that I guess everyone knows that the mids are out. We are wearing our all white uniforms and man it's hard to fit in in an all white outfit. My friend Christine and I ran some errands on Friday and then we had dinner at Davis's Pub. It is my absolute favorite place. Fun fact, Guy Fieri went there on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives and he had the crab pretzel. It's so yummy. On Sunday I had breakfast with MomMom and then I went to TJMaxx to browse and I found some good beauty deals, they really have some hidden gems there. When I went home we went on a little boat ride and then I made some pumpkin cookies!
The cookies were so easy to make. So, I love everything pumpkin and I always have. Right now I have pumpkin coffee pods for my Nespresso, pumpkin flavoring syrup, and pumpkin creamer. I'll have to go to Einstein Bagels this weekend because they have pumpkin bagels and the yummiest pumpkin cream cheese. Okay, back to the cookies. They're only 4-5 ingredients and they're vegan and gluten free. I don't really care about them being vegan or not but it's nice that they're gluten free so my dad can eat them too. Here's the recipe: https://runningonrealfood.com/healthy-pumpkin-oat-cookies/.
I'll also say that life isn't super easy here right now and it's really hard not being able to leave or even run off the yard so when I'm upset I turn to online shopping. I will say, I don't always buy things but I do love to browse. My mom says that she thinks I have a shopping problem but it's better than having an eating problem or drinking problem or turning to drugs or something... That's my argument. I've currently been looking at these really cute sneakers that I think I might just get. They're Adidas and I can get them 30% off!! There's really no reason not to get them. Oh yeah I also run when I'm stressed or upset or angry so it's not great that it's getting colder because now I'll have to start bundling up.
I think I'll make pumpkin bread this weekend, I'm looking forward to that. I don't know what else I'll do but I'm hoping that we get liberty again. It's always kind of up in the air. Alright, I think that's all for now! Hope everyone else is doing well. Oh also here are the pictures all at once!
