Hello everyone! Sorry that I've kind of fallen off the face of the earth for close to a week, 6 days to be exact. I took a much needed break and spent a little time at the beach. It was really nice and relaxing :)

I didn't run on Monday because my shins were really hurting so I took 2 days off and I did an ab circuit on Monday afternoon and I took Tuesday off completely. I ran again on Wednesday morning, only 3 miles just to see how I was feeling, it went well! Thursday morning I did a timed run, 15 minutes out and 15 minutes back, it totaled about 3.5 miles. I took Friday off and then I ran 5.5 miles this morning. It was a nice temperature, not too hot. My shins are doing better which is really good. I think my dad and I are going to go on a long bike ride tomorrow.

I've gotten my parents really into Parks & Rec, they love it! They think it's super funny which is awesome. I've been watching a few episodes with them a night. I think this is my second time watching it.

I'm almost done reading Girl, Wash Your Face and I got another one of Rachel Hollis' books today when I was at Target with my mom. I got Girl, Stop Apologizing. I'm looking forward to reading it once I go back to Navy.

On that topic, going back to school, I initially looked at it as a bad thing. I mean in the sense that I have to go back to school a few weeks early but then I realized that all of my friends are there and it can't be that bad. I got a mini fridge so I can bring my almond milk and make my fancy coffees and I'll be able to keep some fresh fruit and veggies in there. I'll be able to read and watch new shows on Netflix too. I am taking recommendations.

Everything is up in the air for nearly everyone in the world, it won't do me any good to sit around and complain about things that I can't change. So, I'm continuing to stay more positive. Even today, I told my friend Madeline that I won't complain about other peoples' foods. She really likes fried pickles, I hate fried pickles but it's not productive for me to say "ew" so instead I told her that I was happy she got to eat them.

Now to completely change the topic, my niece, Lila, is turning one years old soon and I'm sad I can't be there. However, I was really excited to get her a cute little outfit. If it was up to me, I would've bought her one of everything. What is it about little clothes that are just so so cute? I couldn't decide! My mom and I limited ourselves to one each but it was so hard, I could've spent all weekend trying to pick one out. It's crazy how fast this year has flown by. I feel like it was just a few weeks ago that she was born and now she's learning to walk! I'm sure that my sister, Allison, feels the same way.

I helped with dinner tonight, we made bruschetta grilled chicken. It was really easy. My mom marinaded the chicken, I made the bruschetta, and my dad grilled it! We just had rice on the side. It didn't take too long and I'm sure it'll become a new family menu item. I've had the recipe saved for awhile and we couldn't decide what to make so we settled on something new and easy. Here's the link: https://www.delish.com/cooking/recipe-ideas/a53594/grilled-bruschetta-chicken-recipe/. Also here's a picture of my piece of chicken, we used skinnier cut chicken breasts because it's all the grocery store had and for some reason my piece of chicken was a funny shape but it still tasted super yummy!

I have until mid-day Monday before I have to be back at school. I don't really feel nervous or worried about it. It should go by quickly and eventually we'll be back to normal and I'll be busy with school and sailing again (hopefully)!

This is all for today, I'm really tired and going to sleep soon! Hope everyone has had a good few days!
