ran out of gas pt. 3

The title is not a joke. Okay so here's a story time... When Soren comes home he has a truck that is his to drive. This is not as glorious as it sounds. The truck is a 1970s F250, it's has various body parts at this point but it runs, up until today. Most of the gauges on the inside don't work, especially the gas gauge. We ran out of gas the first time probably four weeks ago, his granddad brought us gas and then we filled it up. The second time I wasn't with him, it was when we were doing yard work. Today was the third time but this time the gas didn't help. The truck had been making funny noises but he just though "it's old." His gram brought us gas and Soren put it in but the truck still wouldn't start. We thought it was weird because Soren filled it up a few days ago and we'd only driven it two or three times since then. His granddad eventually came to get us today and he looked at the truck and it wasn't our fault! He towed the truck back to his house and he's going to take a look at it tomorrow. This was the most excitement we've had in awhile. Unfortunately it's bad excitement because now we don't have a car. The good news is, we don't have anywhere to go either.

This morning I talked to my dad and he suggested that I should find something productive that I like to do so that I don't go completely brain dead in quarantine. I agree with that, I think I'll read. So if anyone has any good book suggestions, I am open! I am still finishing the Jocko book that I started in October, I'll probably finish it quickly.

I made oatmeal today, it was really good. I made it in a pot on the stove, I don't think I've ever done that. I normally microwave it. I added a little maple syrup to sweeten it and then we put raspberries and banana on top!

I ran 3.25 miles today. I'm not going to lie, it wasn't easy. My time is staying consistent, I'm not as fast I was but I haven't really slowed down. In my defense, there are a lot of hills here. I think I'll stay at this distance for a little bit until I'm really feeling better. I'll probably do intervals next week, they kick my butt but they definitely help me get back into shape.

I was planning on making chicken and potatoes for dinner, I found a recipe where you just throw it all on a pan and bake it but Soren decided that he wanted pizza for dinner and I'm glad I agreed. We called in the order and then the truck took a lot longer than we thought so luckily his mom picked it up for us! I'll make the chicken tomorrow night or next week, it's not going anywhere. Also open to easy recipe suggestions for any meal!

There is a possibility it could snow again this weekend. I am not for it. If it does, I don't know what I'll do but I won't be happy that's for sure. I'm hoping it's a fluke. It's been so nice, nearly 60 everyday. I've been running in shorts! I will not stand for the cold. It will truly make me very sad and upset. It is May, there are supposed to be flowers not flurries.

My avocado tool came! I haven't tried it out yet, I might try it tomorrow. I am very excited about it. I would not say it's 100% necessary but it's pretty neat and I'm hoping it's easy to use.

This is all I have for today, hope everyone is staying healthy!
