Hello it is overcast, I actually have no idea if it'll thunderstorm or not... It's looking rainy though.

I had a good weekend! We still don't have overnights but we were allowed to leave Friday, Saturday and Sunday. On Friday a couple teammates and I had dinner at a family friends' house and just hung out, it was really nice. Saturday morning Fiona and I got breakfast at Bean Rush and then we got our nails done and then we went to Lululemon, I got a pair of joggers. I really wanted them and they finally fit me right so I got them. Most of my classmates on my team signed 2 for 7's this weekend so I went to their ceremonies on Saturday. We've already committed to the 2 for 7 idea when school started this was just the pictures part pretty much. During our junior year we either sign or leave the Naval Academy. We commit to two more years of school and a minimum of five years of service. The name is a little complicated. Oh we also ran off of the yard on Saturday. That was quite refreshing, we didn't have to run the same couple of loops! Saturday night we hung out and then came back... Sunday was pretty chill, I got breakfast with the girls from my cruise and then we went to Target and then Kath and I hung out at my house.

This coming weekend I'm sailing in another J22 regatta that's just local. It should be fun, it's just good practice for us because we're supposed to do the match race regatta once it happens.

I had my second to last swim class yesterday. I've heard that this update on swim is some peoples' favorite part of my blog (my mom mostly). So the way this class works is that each week we swim 5 more minutes until we get to 30 minutes because the swim test is how many laps we can swim in 30 minutes in khakis around buoys, so you can't push off the wall. Well yesterday was my practice 30 minutes. I don't think I've ever just swam for funsies for 30 minutes in my life and I know why. I was in a lane with 2 football players, 1 kid who could actually swim and 1 guy who I think was a worse swimmer than I was. The football players literally caused a wake when they passed me, the poor kid who could actually swim had to keep swimming around me and the other guy would just hold on to the wall and take a breather which you're really not supposed to do so... I was so so happy to hear that the 30 minutes was up, the worst part is actually getting out of the pool though because you're wearing these soggy heavy clothes and you have to pull yourself out... I legitimately had to take a breather before I got out. At least we're almost done!

My grades are looking good so that's a positive. We've gone back to class but our professors aren't all back. The majority of my classes are split into two sections because our classrooms aren't big enough so half of us have the professor and the other half just sit there and watch him/her on the projector. It's not an awesome system, yesterday I only heard every other word of my cyber professor. It's okay, I don't understand him anyways. My one English class was outside because the wifi in the building didn't work so we couldn't watch him. But he was in person which was nice. My leadership class is always in person with our instructor which I like because it lets us have real discussions, I also just enjoy leadership. My French professor said that she's not coming in because she doesn't want Corona but we still have to go sit in the classroom... this system is flawed in my opinion.

I haven't updated the book I've been reading because I never finished Rachel Hollis' second book but I've been reading The Boys in the Boat and it's so good. My whole team is reading it and having a sort of book club. It's such a good book. I didn't realize that a lot of people have read it but if you haven't, I highly recommend it. Apparently there's a documentary too so I'll watch that once I'm done. My friend Kaitlin also suggested and lent to me a book called Americanah which I'll read once I finish the like 3 other books I've started.

An update on the weather: I started writing this blog at like 9:20 AM and it's now almost 10 AM and the weather has cleared up... The sky is pretty blue with some clouds so that's nice, it was really humid this morning. How do I know that, you might ask. Well because I was woken up for urinalysis at 6:05 AM and then had to wait for close to an hour before it was my turn to pee in a cup. It's okay, it's random selection and I don't think I've ever been selected before. It was just a little annoying because today's the day I normally sleep in. By the time I got back to my room I could've gone back to bed but I was already awake. I'm not a great sleeper so there's that.

I think that's all for now... have a good week!
