As you might be able to tell from the title, my Nespresso came today! Holy cow it's so cool and I'm so excited about it. I made a coffee, I have lots of energy and excitement. It even has a self clean feature which is pretty neat. I really can't wait to try all of the flavors because even though I already ordered some pods, I'll probably base my second order off of my favorite flavors. I'm also going to look into different syrups I can add to really act like a real barista.
I ran 8.1 miles this morning. It was actually a very pleasant temperature today, it wasn't too humid or too hot. I initially planned on trying to run 10 miles but I stopped because I was so thirsty. There was a point, around mile 6 or 7 that I thought "if only I could jump into a refreshing pool right now." I drank a lot of water once I finally cooled down. I don't think I'll go for 10 this week but I'll try again next week.
I had one hour of class today and I have one hour tomorrow. After that I'm done! I don't really know what I'll do with my free time. Yesterday I didn't have class and I really spent all day with Bungee. I took him to the dog park, he didn't really enjoy it and then I took him to Starbucks and he got a puppachino. It's just a little cup with whipped cream in it but he really liked it. He was more excited for that than anything else.
I also made homemade Chipotle last night for dinner! My parents really liked it. I'm sure I'll make it again. I've gotten into cooking again so I spent some time today trying to find easy gluten free dinner ideas. My dad is gluten free but I think I already mentioned that.
My friend Elena and I are planning on kayaking this afternoon to go watch the Tuesday night racing. It should be fun! I haven't kayaked in awhile so we'll see how it goes. Either way I'm just happy to get out of the house!
I still don't know a lot about when I'm returning to school or really any details about the upcoming academic year. It's a little frustrating because I kind of feel like I'm just sitting around waiting for an answer. I try to get out of the house at least once a day, even if it's only to go on a walk or a run. I just don't think I could sit here all day!
I've been really into making my own acai bowls. If you follow me on instagram or you're friends with me on Facebook you can see that I love Rutabaga, it's a local cafe type of place in Annapolis that makes juices, smoothies, and smoothie bowls and while they're delicious they're also pretty expensive. So I've been getting these acai packs from the grocery store or Target and blending them with some frozen mixed berries, spinach, a banana, and a little almond milk to make the bowls at home! I think I finally got the texture right today and I'm super excited about it. I added four ice cubes and I think that did the trick. I top the bowls with fresh strawberries and blueberries, some Kashi cereal, chia seeds and honey. They're not Rutabaga but they're super yummy. Now that I have my fancy coffee maker and all of the stuff to make smoothie bowls at home... hopefully I'll feel less inclined to buy coffee and breakfast (probably not though).
Hmmm, I don't really have much else to say besides I'm almost done Girl, Wash Your Face and I think I'd like to read Rachel Hollis' other books! She's a really good writer and I've enjoyed her book a lot. Hope everyone else is doing well!
