Today was busy. I haven't said that in awhile but we had a lot to do today.
I had two finals, they were both a lot of writing. Shakespeare was two essays and Modern was three. I definitely tried harder on the first class, I lacked motivation for the second. Soren also had his Modern exam today but his was 50 multiple choice questions, not fair! At least I'm done those two classes! I have two more tomorrow and then it would technically be the summer... I don't know what's happening.
After our finals we had to take the recycling to the dump/recycling center. I was under the impression that it closed at 4:00 PM, I finished my exam at 3:15 PM. Turns out it closes at 5:00 PM. It's okay, we got the recycling taken care of an hour early.
After that we stopped by his mom's house, I went on a quick run. I haven't lost any speed I'm just building my mileage back up. Slowly but surely. Today I ran 2.2 miles. It does not sound like a lot to me. My legs don't hurt it just gets hard to breathe... I guess I'm out of shape. I might do an ab workout in a few minutes, I don't know maybe I won't. I'm just glad I got outside today, it was really nice. I was able to run in shorts! It's supposed to stay sunny this week but get colder again, little disappointed about that.
Soren's mom made us some makeshift face masks so that we could run a few errands. Maine requires that you wear a mask whenever you're in a store. I stopped at the post office to return a package and then we went to the grocery store. You're supposed to avoid going in as a couple so we take turns, it was my turn, Soren waited in the car. Apparently 4:45 is a great time to go to the store, hardly anyone was in there! I got what we needed for the next few weeks and then we went home. Oh, strawberries were on sale and they looked too good for me to pass them up.
We made mac and cheese for dinner. It's one of Soren's favorites. Nothing fancy, he loves plain old Velveeta. I know it's not the healthiest but once in a while it's super yummy. Tomorrow is Cinco de Mayo and Mexican food holds a special place in my heart. I do not have the ability to get any here but I got the stuff for nachos. Except I think we're having lasagna tomorrow so I might have to make them another time :( It's okay, my nachos can wait a little. Only a little, I don't want to wait too long. I also found an easy recipe for a taco casserole like dish and I am planning on making it soon. Mexican food is not Soren's favorite but normally if I make something he'll eat it. He also helps, don't worry. I am planning on making blueberry bread tomorrow or Wednesday. It's just like a giant blueberry muffin! I've enjoyed making banana bread and I figured why not make other breads! This one suggests a glaze but I think I'll just put some extra sugar on top so it gets that sweet crunch, that's normally the best part of a muffin so I assume it'll be the best part of the bread.
We finished "Outer Banks." It ended with such a cliff hanger, they have to be planning for another season, Soren and I are super invested. We both enjoyed the show, we just have one chief complaint: why did the producers say the kids are in high school? These actors are clearly in their 20s. They said the kids were 16 and they should've said they were 18 at least. It would've been more believable. That's our biggest complaint. I have some minor ones but they're unimportant. I've watched more of "Virgin River" I really like it. It's easy to watch but you still have to pay attention. I'm going to watch some more after this.
I'm feeling good. I've been sleeping and I don't cough at all. I still blow my nose occasionally but other than that I'm doing well.
I heard Don Shula died today. I can't say I'm a big football fan or a Miami Dolphins fan but my dad said he was a good coach. I like that his wikipedia bio describes him as the "winningest coach," it is underlined in squiggly red so I'm not convinced that's a word but it's a fun one. Okay back to my point, so one time my dad and I were flying back from some regatta in Florida and the Tampa airport had a Shula Burger, one of Don Shula's restaurant chains, and it was one of the best burgers we'd ever had. Neither one of us is a burger fanatic but no one expects good airport food... I just hope someone has taken over his food chains. Well, I hope his family is okay too.
As always, hope everyone is staying safe and healthy!
