Hello! Today was my first day of swim class and let me tell you, I hate it just as much as I always have. I just really don't enjoy swimming, I don't know why it's just not something that I like. I wouldn't say I'm particularly bad at it, I'm not good but I'm not awful. I just don't understand how it makes me so out of breath. A few more notes about 2/C swim: every class we wear our khaki uniforms in the pool, it's a timed test, we have to do 14 laps in 30 minutes in order to get a C so we have to do like 20 laps or more to get at least a B I think. Today we only swam for 10 minutes and it's quite a challenge. That's enough about that class for now. At least we don't have to jump off the 10 meter again and once this class is done I'll be done my swim classes at Navy!

This past weekend (and Friday) I sailed in the NOOD regatta. It stands for National Open One Design, I think... I sailed a boat called a J22 which can be sailed with four people or three, we sailed with four because we're just using the time as practice for our match racing team. I don't know how our coaches thought we would do but we only had two days of practice before the regatta and we didn't know what to expect. Turns out that as a group we're pretty good and we ended up winning! This season won't have a lot of competitions and we won't have any at the collegiate level so it's just nice to go out and compete when we get the chance and it's even nicer to do well. Our coach and team is really happy that we did so well because it really helps build morale even though we won't be able to compete a whole lot more until the spring.

School is still going well. It's starting to get a little busier but I think I'm managing it well. I will say that Cyber is getting trickier and I'm going to have to start going to EI or MGSP which is a study program that's led by other midshipmen. Actually one of my best friends, Fiona, leads a section.

Today's our day off of practice and workouts so most of us use it to catch up on homework and school stuff. I'm using it to blog... But I'll also workout after school. I think Madeline, Fiona and I are going to run.

Today I have this thing called Meal Watch, it's new this semester but because our dining hall has to give out boxed lunches, mids have been volunteered to help distribute and pack them. I have the dinner shift today from 5 PM until 7:30 PM. It's a very long time so I don't know what I'll be doing the whole time. I joked that perhaps my year and half of working at Main and Market will come in handy. Which reminds me, I should get some food from there once I'm allowed out. I hope they've done okay during COVID.

I have my optometry appointment this afternoon, I guess I'll learn when I have to get PRK or Lasik. I won't have to wear contacts anymore after that! I'm a still nervous about it so we'll see. I'm sure I'll learn more today.

I thought I'd have more to write about but I really don't. I hope everyone's doing well!
