it's been a month monday

This title is brought to you courtesy of my mom, she keeps me updated on how many days I've been gone.

We are going on day 5 without power. We are so lucky to have a generator, I think we'd all go insane without it. I feel really badly for those without generators, I don't know what they're doing. Yesterday was not a typical Easter for me. There was no celebration or anything, it's okay, we had "Easter pizza." I also learned how to play triominoes, it's like dominoes but the pieces are triangles. The running joke is that Soren's little brother, Baden, will win any game. It's true, I played with Baden and Soren's mom for four games and Baden won each time. I don't know how he does it. The good news is, now Easter candy is on sale! I know I'm too old for an Easter basket but I still miss the idea. I don't miss Easter eggs, I hated Easter egg hunts.

For more, "exciting" news, my new contacts are great! I'm still waiting on my beautycounter package but I think it'll be here today or tomorrow. I might try out some "no-bake" cookies today, they seem easy enough and we've eaten all of the sweet snacks...

Soren really likes the whipped coffee and I had a lot of free time yesterday so I went all out on one for him. I think, in another life, I might be a barista. Or, if the Navy doesn't work out. Maybe a barista/bartender I think barista by day, bartender by night could be kind of fun.

Whenever I make anything in the kitchen that's somewhat appealing I make sure to send a picture to Claire just so she can see how much I've improved. I'm saying that Claire has already seen this picture.

I did a circuit workout yesterday that kind of kicked my butt. I've decided that I will only talk about workouts in the past tense but I've found that whenever I claim I'm going to do one in here, I never actually do it or I do something completely different. That being said, I was going to run today but it's pretty rainy. I'm just thankful that it isn't snow.

I'm going to be really excited when online classes are done. I have a few papers coming up, two to be exact. One 5-page paper for my Shakespeare class and one 8-page paper for my Ethics class. I think I'll do the thing where I do every other homework before I do the homework that needs to be done. It's much harder to get work done at home. There are so many distractions, even without power. I just feel like I have to do my work at school. Good news, I finished my show so I guess I won't have any real distractions until I find a new show. (Sorry Dad I'll stay off Netflix so you can watch.)

My team has been sending out weekly newsletters and they are supposed to be happy but they make me sad. I think they make all of us a little sad. Next season is going to be tough for us as a team. We are going to be kind of starting over, we'll be good but it'll be a new dynamic. The newsletters have workouts in them so maybe I'll try one of those. Also, another bit of exciting news, I thought that I'd left a whole bunch of my chargers at home but I actually found them so I can keep using my speaker.

Okay, well I don't have anything else for right now so I'm going to stop writing. I'll let everyone know if I make those cookies and how they turn out!
