fitness friday

Sorry it's not a super fun title but it's an explanatory one. The local YMCA opened today so we went. I woke up and ran this morning, decided that I wanted to run into the park which is uphill in and uphill out if you run to the water. I did do that, while it was very scenic it was not very fun. I think I might run by Soren's mom's house tomorrow because while it's still hilly, it's less. Oh yeah but after I got back from my run we went to the YMCA. We were the only ones there and I can say that I'm considerably weaker than I was when I left school. It's also been months since I've actually lifted weights. Still, it was better than nothing and I'm glad I went.

An update on the "20 minute penne:" It was really tasty but it took me close to an hour. That was partially because the water for the pasta took forever to boil. Once it was all done it was really yummy and I would definitely make it again. I also didn't have any penne, I don't know the name of this pasta I believe it's fusilli but it worked just as well. After all of my working out was done I showered and we had out Friday Dunkin'. It's kind of become a routine. After we ate breakfast together I did a little homework and then I went back to the lake. Today was the first nice, sunny day that we've had in awhile and I wanted to tan. I laid out for about an hour and I Facetimed my mom while I was at it. I think I got a little tan. It's a gradual process but I hope it's nice next week too. Once I was done tanning I rinsed off but I couldn't head back into town yet because the next door neighbors had a tree trimmer and they were parked in our driveway so I couldn't get out. It ended up being less than half an hour but still, I was glad I brought my iPad.

Soren and I had the local Chinese restaurant for dinner. Turns out it's not very good. I probably could've made something a little better. I'm just not allowed to say that because it's a running inside joke that his grandparents always say that. His Gram is big on, "oh, I can make that." And normally she can and it'll taste pretty good.

I did some homework and talked to Madeline. ICSA (intercollegiate sailing association) had their virtual All-American ceremony tonight at 6 PM. I got honorable mention. I'm happy with that but it kind of just motivates me to want to do better next season. I know I can and I know that this season was a little weird because we didn't get to show off how well we could do as a team.

We went back to the lake and hung out with his grandparents for a few hours before coming back into town. Soren has a Fortnite tournament this evening. We have two cars so if he wants to stay later than I do, I'll head back to camp and go to sleep. I'm pretty tired and I know I'll be sore tomorrow.

I assume tomorrow we'll be doing some yard work. I'm planning on coming into town to run in the morning and then making waffles for breakfast. I haven't in awhile and I think everyone would enjoy them. After that I'm sure the yard work will begin. I don't know what kind of yard work we'll be doing. Apparently it's removing tree stumps but I thought there was a machine for that so I'll either be on dog duty or clean up duty. Dog duty is more fun.

On Sunday Soren and I are planning on going on a hike at Borestone Mountain. It's not a super long or treacherous hike but it's nice and scenic at the top. We did it last summer when I was here and I really liked it. I just hope it's nice weather! It's supposed to be in the mid-60s which should be perfect.

Alright, I'm going to go find a show to watch on Netflix and then probably head back to the lake. Hope everyone's getting a chance to experience some warmer weather like we've been!
