Hi!! Sorry that it's been awhile, I got really busy trying to finish all of my end of the year assignments before I got LASIK. I got it on Tuesday and my eyes are pretty much healed at this point. I still look a little scary but the redness should go away in a few weeks. I can already see 20/15 which is super exciting. The whole procedure was weird but I'm glad I did it and it's done.

I finished my last class yesterday. I still have exams, my first one is on Tuesday and it's also my hardest one. I'll be okay, I just want to get them over with. I'll be done with my exams by Thursday but we still have to stay here because we're going to Army-Navy on Saturday, it's going to be played at West Point so Saturday will definitely be a long day. Hopefully I sleep on the bus. We get to leave at noon the Sunday afterwards. I have over a month long Christmas break which I am super excited about!! I'm looking forward to seeing everyone, sleeping in my own bed, and going on runs that aren't on the yard. It's really the little things. I'm also excited to make my own food but I can live without that.

After I got LASIK I couldn't read or look at any lights or anything so I started listening to Greenlights by Matthew McConnaughey, it's really good. I've never been a big audiobook fan but he reads it himself and he's so entertaining. I only have about an hour left but I genuinely look forward to listening to it. I think that only the thing to do once I'm done listening is watch all of his movies, naturally...

I'm trying to think of what else I've been up to... I looked at my blog and I realized that it's been a few weeks since I last posted. Hard ROM did in fact only last a week. However, the only time I've left the yard has been to go to the eye doctor so I'm thankful to leave but it wasn't like a super fun time or anything. Most people have been stuck here for weeks. We did not in fact get Thanksgiving break but honestly, I had a great time. Madeline, who is also our team captain, organized a team Thanksgiving dinner and everyone's parents and sponsors brought us various foods and we even had two turkeys! The food was yummy and we all hung out and had a really nice time. It was one of those things where we made the best out of a crappy situation and it turned out really nice. Also my company had a little party and some old grads bought my whole company Chick-fil-A last Saturday so we have been doing well. Yes, the situation does suck and it's getting really tedious being stuck here but we're all surviving and it'll all be over soon.

To go back to team Thanksgiving, I really don't know what I'd do without my teammates. One of our coaches said that when a big hurdle is thrown at a group of people it can either bring them together or drive them apart and we've really grown closer and COVID has definitely brought us together and I'm so happy about that. I'm especially thankful for my class. They're some of my best friends and I love hanging out with them, you too Madeline, we'll really miss you next year! (For those of you wondering, she is a dedicated reader of my blog.) Like I love my team enough that I'm going to spend probably half of my Christmas break with them. I really miss regattas and competing but I still think we spent about the same amount of time together by choice.

I've decided that I'm going to become a cold weather runner. Trust me, I don't want to be but I've gotten into a running groove and I don't want to just stop. I keep telling myself that if I could run in Maine I can run through a Maryland winter, it's not that bad. Luckily, it hasn't gotten too cold yet here.

By the time we leave for Christmas our rooms are supposed to be empty of pretty much all food except for like canned goods or sealed things so I'm in the rut where I'm out of some things but I don't want to get more because I always feel really wasteful if I have to throw food away so I guess I'll be eating sort of obscure things for meals. That's not really super new though. I've been super into tortillas, they're so versatile. I love them with a little Nutella or with turkey and cheese, I just feel like you can put anything in a tortilla and it'll be good. My mom also got me a 20 pack so I think I've just been using them as much as possible.

I also realize that I began writing today's blog having 0 ideas of what I was going to say and now I'm ending it and it's 4 mins long so, I hope everyone enjoys and has a good rest of their day!
